Asymmetric confrontations
|
Violent confrontations in East Jerusalem.
The Israeli media presented a symmetrical picture:
"Jewish demonstrators" versus "Arab demonstrators"
With the impartial police interposing,
Prime Minister Netanyahu calling for
"Calming down on all sides".
This doesn't take into account the basic facts:
East Jerusalem is an occupied city.
Settlers take over houses and
Throw Palestinian tenants into the street,
With the active help of the Israel Police.
The courts of the State of Israel
Have issued new deportation orders
For hundreds of Sheikh Jarrah residents.
The Arab demonstrators are
Young Palestinians revolting
Against occupation and oppression.
The Jewish demonstrators are
Extreme racists yelling "Death to the Arabs!".
