Hunger-striking detainee Mohammad Al Qiq - in life danger!

Mr. President Reuven Rivlin

We call upon you to urgently intervene to save the life of journalist Al Qiq. All other means have failed and now, with the continuation of his hunger strike, Mohammad Al Qiq is on the threshold of death.

Al Qiq is entitled to the basic human right: knowing what are the charges against him, and being able to answer to these charges. If no guilt is found, then he must be released, immediately. This right is granted to all Israelis. It is granted to all human beings residing in free countries. Why is Al Qiq not allowed to share in it?

The state of Israel has turned Administrative Detentions (imprisonment with no charges, no time limit, no rights) into an arbitrary, widespread tool for imprisonment.

Al Qiq objects to the "deals" offered to him because they take for granted his guilt. Moreover, such "deals" were struck in the past with earlier hunger striking detainees – whereupon the hunger strike stopped, the person was released and… a few months later, was back again in detention.

Mr. President, please intervene on behalf of journalist Al Qiq. Save the life of this man of honor and dignity. This shall also contribute to the strengthening our nowadays shaky democracy.

Nearly a thousand Israeli citizens have already signed the petition calling for release of hunger-striking detainee Mohammad Al Qiq http://www.atzuma.co.il/elqiq

Herak Haifa will hold a protest demonstration demanding the immediate release of hunger striking detainee Muhammad Al-Qiq. The vigil will be held on Wednesday, February 17, at 20:00 in the junction of Allenby and Carmel Avenue (Ben-Gurion), The German Colony, Haifa

On the 85th day of his Hunger Strike against unlawful Administrative Detention, the life of Palestinian journalist Muhammad Al-Qiq is in immediate and critical danger!

The decision of the “Supreme” court to prevent Al-Qiq’s transfer for medical care in Ramallah exposed the lie of the so-called “suspension” of his detention. It is actually a political ruling implying asummary execution of Muhammad Al-Qiq, in order to serve as an object lesson that Palestinians has no Human Rights.

Free Muhammad Al-Qiq! Stop administrative detentions! Freedom to the prisoners of the freedom struggle!
