The people of Ramiya live on their private land before the establishment of the state of Israel… Their land was confiscated in 1976 as part of the racist “Judaization of the Galilee” – to expel Arab citizens from their land in order to build communities of Jews only. In the 1990’s there was a mass struggle against the dispossession and deportation of Ramiya’s residents which led to an agreement, signed in 1995, that should let Ramiya’s people build their homes and live in Karmiel. Since then the Karmiel municipality and the Israel Land Authority continue to harass the residents and do everything for there eviction. Now, after the “supreme” court refused to hear the residents’ appeal, there is an approaching danger of an attempt to evict the people of Ramiya by force. Everybody is invited to take part in a protest vigil with Ramiya’s people and all those who oppose racism and discrimination On Friday November 13, 2015 at 13:00 Demonstration at Ramiya Derekh Hashalom, Karmiel Contact: Dov Koler 054-3921272 |
