The bombastic declaration of Prime Minister Netanyahu, regarding his supposed willingness to accept the creation of Palestinian state, is utterly devoid of content. It is made conditional upon an enormous list of pre-conditions which are not implementable. Nor are they intended to be implemented – rather, their full aim and purpose are to provide an alibi for no implementation and no serious negotiations. The one concrete and clear-cut pledge made in Netayahu's speech was the declaration of continuing settlement construction in the name of "natural growth".
