While public opinion in Israel and abroad was focused on the historical US elections, Defence Minister Ehud Barak used the opportunity to violate the cease-fire which he himself signed, and carry out a bloody provocation in the Gaza Strip. This provocation is the Defence Minister's gift to President-Elect Obama. To the Israeli inhabitants of Sderot, Ashkelon and the Western Negev, Ehud Barak sent another gift - a rain of missiles which fell on their heads.
