Har Homa extension - a slap in the face

“Prime Minister Olmert and Defense Minister Peretz both excel in throwing out colorful balls called “humanitarian gestures” and “political plans”, which sound nice but have little relation to reality” says Gush Shalom, the Israeli Peace Bloc.
“The situation on the ground is that occupation and settlement continue and increase. A thousand new housing units are planned for the settlement neighborhood ‘Har Homa’ deep into the Palestinian territory, with the aim of cutting the Palestinian inhabitants of Tzur Baher off from their neighbors in Bethlehem.
Like a thousand witnesses they testify to the real aims and purposes of the government. The planners of this new provocation describe their handiwork, ‘Har Homa C’, as ‘housing to be erected on a long and narrow, knife-like ridge.'
Indeed, it is a knife directed at the heart of any chance to achieve peace and reconciliation between the two peoples of this land”.
